Biographies
2017-2018
Ben, otherwise known as Carl’s Junior, Hardee’s, and “Oh wait, you’re Carl’s brother” glowed up this year and has earned his way on to the Starting O-line! As a sneaky lefty with an extremely high game IQ he is sure to make some noise this season.

Outside of frisbee, Ben LOVES UNC basketball and the ‘Lers. His hobbies include Irish Dancing, hiding his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and most importantly protecting his belongings from the pesky neighborhood kids who are, in Ben’s words, “Always after me Lucky Charms.”

Ben battled through crippling toe arthritis the first half of the season to become a key cog in the o-line’s play. Unfortunately, Ben’s season came to a quick close at Stanford when he tore his ACL. The team saddened by the loss, but Ben’s passion and knowledge for the sport will not be lost. He will still be an important part of the team continuing the rest of the season in more of a coaching role. Look for Ben’s bald head on the sideline the rest of this season giving it his all. Most importantly stay tuned for the #comeback!

2016-2017
Benjamin Havely Morgenstern is a local Pittsburgh product, hailing from neighboring Squirrel Hill. Ben, known as B-Morgy or Ben to his brethren, is a junior currently completing the Computer Science major at Pitt. After leading Pitt’s b-team for two years and excelling in a handler role, Ben has moved up to the first team and is ready to answer the call. His ability as a lefty and experience with the game will make him an extremely valuable role player this year. Ben has big ambitions for the 2017 college season. Watch out for Ben to move into the starting lineup as Pitt rolls through its regular season tournaments.

Outside of ultimate, Ben lives quite an interesting life and travels frequently. In the summer of 2016, Ben spent two months traveling through Europe, which was kicked off by a trip to Israel. From there, he cruised through vibrant European cities, often traveling alone and getting lost along the way. Fret not, however, as Ben is back in Pittsburgh, safe and sound.

Ben enjoys long walks on the beach, bubble baths, and hershey’s kisses. He’s been seen with five tons of hershey’s kisses in his room in the past, evidence supported by several of his teammates. His favorite movie is Power Rangers and his favorite artist is Adele. Despite following the computer science track, Ben always wanted to be an astronaut. In fact, his roommates have seen Ben chowing down on some toothpaste in the middle of the night, claiming he was “hungry.” He still believes he will be an astronaut one day, which is exactly the kind of attitude his teammates love him for.

Ben has said his number one goal in life is to be like his amazing teammate, Saul Graves. According to Ben, “I think Saul is the absolute best dude. I really hope to be just like him one day.” Graves has said to “expect big things from Ben this year. He works his a** off and is going to make some huge waves on defense this year.”
